6/2024..........Thanks. I was missing hearing Jack's voice. He is unfortunately really old, maybe he is very retired. I haven't seen him out in public in years. His voice was iconic. His acting was always superb. I just needed to hear him speak, rant, shout,....anything. To refresh my memory.

Tastes are tastes, but forgetting Five Easy Pieces is hardly explainable. Not show-off enough? That's probably it, for some "great acting" means "overacting".

I watched The Raven, with Vincent Price and Peter Lorey, and I was super surprised to see a VERY very young Jack and Shirley Jackson in it. It was before he was in Easy Rider.

There is one scene missing, perhaps greatest of them all, from the beginning of "Chinatown" by Roman Polański. Actually, this is the only film in which Jack Nicholson plays character with a charm and class.

I went to USC with Jack's daughter. Introduced to her I could not help but do imitations from "Cuckoo's Nest" about Billy "bird dogging chicks." Jennie just left and my pal Mickey said, "Good job, Travers. You really know how to talk to women."

I'm surprized that Easy Rider wasn't on this list as I believe that that the ironic character he played kick started his career into the big time - he practically stole the movie off Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper.

I lived in Malibu for 7 years next door to Jack Nicholson's estate. He had to drive through our estate to get to his place. It's amazing how wild Jack acted at parties I went to at his home. Jack would snort cocaine and abuse groups of hookers. But everybody loves Jack so her got away with a lot. Once, we were playing doubles tennis with 2 sexy girls in bikinis. Jack was kind of a Peeping Tom, he had his limo driver park by our tennis court while he checked out the girls. Another time a love scene was being shot on our property, Jack walked over because a young lady was screaming while having sex. I'll let you imagine what Jack said and did. Jack was generous, he always handed me $100 bottles of wine at his parties...

Hey Jack, if you ever read this, can I share an amazing story with you? One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith. So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana". I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly… I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling. He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car. A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.

So many great movies. If you look closely on scene #3 you can see the moment that woman starts to like Jack. Right after he hits her with the "You make me wanna be a better man" and they zoom in on her and back to Jack. She softens up and he starts to get a little more color in his face. Friggin fantastic movie 🤌 and that little piano in the background 🥲
